When is the best time to plant?

If you are outside this summer wishing you had spruced up the yard before BBQ season now is the time to hire a designer and get the project started. The back and forth of a good design takes a few weeks, and the spring rush is too late to hire a designer, we’re already booked! Beat the system of the spring rush and have the best survival rates for your new plants when you plant in the fall.

Summer is a great time to asses the hot spots in your space where plants will struggle to survive our long summers. Planting the right hardy shrub will eliminate that dead spot where nothing else has thrived.

I specialize in the hardiest low-water gardens using Mediterranean and California natives. An easy to care for garden has a well-curated mix of flowering shrubs, flowing grasses, and architectural shapes.

Get started on your custom plan this summer and we can set up installation for the fall when the ground is cooler. You will save on water costs to get them established, the rains will help out too. By next summer they will be blooming, thriving, and ready to impress at your family BBQ’s.
